Welcome back to school, we hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing half term break! Following an exciting half term, we would like to acknowledge and appreciate the children’s amazing pieces of homework! We acknowledge the children were set 2 separate pieces of homework last half term (Hugo and Space) and so we are extra appreciative for all your hard work. Well done to you all that brought these in, we were extremely impressed!
This half term we are excited to begin our new topic of ‘Natural Disasters’. The first two weeks of term will focus on The Water Cycle, within which we will learn all about the cycle and complete an explanation text to share our knowledge with others. We will then move on to natural disasters and focus on writing a report. We will use these reports to then create scripts that will be turned into a documentary, using Mr Pepper’s help to film them!
At the end of the term we will also participate in a whole school Shakespeare week, where we will use various different techniques to explore Romeo and Juliet.
The children will continue to participate in P.E. lessons on a Wednesday and, since swimming has now finished, we will also have a second PE lesson on Thursday afternoons. Therefore, it is important to have a full P.E. kit in school, including appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather.
If you have any questions or worries, please write in your child’s comment book or catch one of us after school.
