Welcome back to school we hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing summer. We cannot wait to get to know you all and find out more about everyone’s interests and talents this year. We have begun our term with a whole school topic based on ‘community and belonging’. This allowed us to identify the importance of being part of a community but also that within that everyone is unique!
We are very excited to begin our new topic of ‘Into the Jungle’ where we will use the film version of ‘The Jungle Book’ as our stimulus for writing. Following this, we will be exploring endangered animals in order to produce a persuasive piece on why they should be saved!
In Year 4, the children will participate in P.E. lessons on a Wednesday so it is important to have a full P.E. kit in school, including appropriate outdoor clothing as it begins to get colder. Swimming will continue on a Friday morning each week until February. We are also lucky enough to have the opportunity to learn to play the guitar or flute each week in Year 4 which will be an exciting challenge for us all. This will take place on a Wednesday afternoon.
If you have any questions or worries, please write in your child’s comment book or catch one of us after school.
